War on AIDS HIV/AIDS Take action AZ at Reading 03 Toby at Cancun Bollocks to poverty

ActionZone’s reporter Toby is off to the World Trade Organisation meeting in Cancun, Mexico, in early September to keep a close watch on the trade deals being struck between superpowers and poor countries.

Armed with a microphone, a notepad and a suitcase full of Bollocks to Poverty T-shirts, Toby will report daily on the state of play at the meeting – on the protests outside and news from inside.

ActionAid’s supporters have been demanding that governments make international trade agreements work for the benefit of the world’s poor people – not just fat cats. You can still let the UK government know what you think they should be doing at Cancun by taking action below (last chance!).

Rich country governments are pushing for EVEN MORE freedom for fat cats at Cancun. They want to strip away powers that governments have previously used to rein-in fat cats.

ActionAid says that it’s time to put the rights of poor people ahead of the profits of multinational corporations. People’s rights are not for sale!

Look out for Toby’s daily reports from Cancun here on the ActionZone website.
