Take Action

AIDS kills more than 8,000 people EVERY DAY. Nearly all of these are the poorest people in the poorest countries. ActionAid believes that AIDS should be both manageable and preventable.

Two years ago, the world’s richest countries set up the Global Fund to fight AIDS, TB and Malaria. Tony Blair and other leaders pledged to finance it – but it’s already run out of money.

Funding the War on AIDS would cost a tiny fraction of the cost of the war with Iraq. It is calculated that, to pay our fair share to the Global Fund, the UK must increase its contribution by at least an extra £284m in 2004-5.

Take action and tell Tony Blair to pay our fair share and fund the fight against AIDS
